A folding/stacking outdoor lounge chair, consisting of an anodised aluminium tube frame with moulded polypropylene straps.

Timeline

I had the idea for the frame long before I knew what to do with it, and I only conceived of using moulded plastic straps by elimination. The first plan was to cover the frame with a canvas skin, like folding camp beds, but it seemed too cheap and likely to fall apart if left outside. We tried folded aluminium slats and curved extrusions, we even tried wood, before I realised that the repeating of the slats justified a plastic mould, which would bring the cost down and give the chair some technical sophistication.
