Asked by Samsung to come up with three design proposals for mobile phones, we came up with this family of three models each providing different levels of function, like camera, MP3 and video. The first, a simple ‘bar’ type phone, is the most basic. The two ‘clamshell’ types both make use of a two-part barrel hinge, and in the case of the bigger one an extra pivot allows the screen to be positioned for video filming. The project was coodinated by Ingon Park at Samsung and is ongoing as we are completing three further projects.
