Bouroullec Père

2021

An exhibition of wooden spoons carved by Gabriel Bouroullec, at the Jasper Morrison Shop, London.

Timeline

After retiring as a social worker a decade ago, Gabriel Bouroullec developed the habit of crafting spoons in his workshop in Brittany. He carves them by hand in various sizes and shapes from any bits of wood he can find. Gabriel is the father of the French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The Shop held an exhibition of some spoons Bouroullec Père had made recently. The spoons were for sale; as they sold, they disappeared from the display. All proceeds from the sales went to the Emmaus charity, as chosen by Gabriel.

Also on show was Iso-Lounge, a new chairdesigned by Jasper for Isokon+.
