One day Rolf Fehlbaum asked me if I’d design a pair of bus stop shelters for the main road near the Vitra Design Museum. The local authority was planning to upgrade the old bus stops with the installation of two very poorly designed modern shelters. The designs would have been so out of tune with the Vitra complex that Rolf felt the need to commission his own. Three years later the bus stops have just been installed minus the rubberised flooring, which waits for warmer weather.
