Timeline

I had been trying to design a light for Flos for almost five years before together with Piero Gandini, we hit upon the idea for Glo-ball. I wasn’t 100% convinced about it but Piero was so sure that he dropped an earlier project we had been working on, and we developed a range of these blown glass globes for almost every imaginable situation. It turned out to be a big success, maybe just because it’s a new take on the classic hanging glass globe. It took me another three years to convince Piero to try the bases in white. I think they look a thousand times better, but unfortunately the sales so far support Piero’s judgement. Maybe one day the rest of the world will catch on!
