Mirror

2004

A mirror designed for a group exhibition at Galerie Kreo in Paris in an edition of eight, plus two.

Timeline

The only detail on the mirror is the bevelled edge and the hand made ‘knuckle’ where it turns the corners, resulting from a play of radii with differing centrepoints. I found this detail on an old mirror in a restaurant in Italy. The sides had been cut by machine and the corners roughly finished by hand, improved by imperfection. Designed for a group exhibition at Galerie Kreo in Paris as an edition of eight, the mirror could have been ordered in any size, but in the end was made mostly to the size exhibited by the Ronchetti Marzorati workshops in Brianza.
